We stayed the night in Arroumd. This is where Hassan our guide lived, and he took us to see his family.

We spent the final night before the summit in the Neltner refuge.

The next day, we made an early start for the summit of Toubkal.

The museum of Marrakech

On our final night in Marrakech we headed to a superb Moroccan restaurant and sat outside amongst the palm trees and belly dancers. We spent hours recollecting a fantastic trip.

Sunday 23rd July

Finally it was time to bid everyone farewell. Hassan took us back to the airport where I waved goodbye.


My departure was slightly delayed but eventually got into the air. I took a few photos as we left Marrakech and headed up into the largely clear sky.

We headed northwards reaching the coast near Casablanca. The final pictures clearly show boats crossing the straights of Gibraltar between Algeciras to Tangier, Europe and Africa.

This was farewell to Morocco.
